Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

You'll be okay the email should be sent soon. In our case my husband received the passport request email and then ECAS was updated. It's all random and it depends on the officer reviewing your case I guess. But I wouldn't stress too much as you'll find out what the decision is soon and I reckon...

    Thread for September 2010 Applicants

Sorry for the delay! Yes - I had to fill out a list of goods (B4 if I remember correctly) as I was shipping a bunch of things via sea. I did this beforehand using the shipment company's form but when I went through customs at the airport the super nice (and I'm being sincere and not sarcastic)...

Great news! My hubby got his passport back today - but we were able to start tracking it last night. I just booked his flight to Toronto this coming Thursday. Only two more sleeps left before I can see him again! Soooooo happy!

The immigration doctor said I may need letters from my main doctor....

Why would it be ridiculous? They check for HIV and Canada's rate is extremely low, especially in comparison to let's say Botswana. And Hepatitis takes a lot of TLC on the medical front.

Based on what ftgpmb was saying London is taking the full 6 weeks due to a backlog of passports. If it's been over six weeks then you are able to call and the receptionist will connect you to someone who may be able to anwer your question. My husband tried calling before the six week mark and...

The immigration doctor said I may need letters from my main doctor....

I am sorry but I have to disagree with you. One of my colleagues received a phone call from his doctor stating that they found traces of marijuana and that he can re-do his medical (as part of his PR application) at a later date. It was really nice that this British doctor phoned him up and told...

The immigration doctor said I may need letters from my main doctor....

From my understanding the medical is to show that you don't have a terminal illness of any kind or an illness that will bleed the health care system such as kidney disease. When my husband did his medical the doctor said that they were checking for things like Hepatitis, HIV, and so on. They...

    Option C printiou

I didn't have an option c print out either because I was working and living in the UK for the last 4.5 years when I was sponsoring my husband. What you are supposed to do instead is send them copies of your pay slips for the last year and then write a letter explaining why you don't have an...

If my husband doesn't get his passport by next Wednesday I'm going to get him to do this as well. So glad they didn't turn you back. And I'm happy you made your flight. I wish we thought of this before my hubby missed his. Congratulations!

Congratulations! Just out of curiosity, how long did it take the Canadian Consulate to send back your passport? My hubby has been waiting for his passport to be retuned for nearly four weeks now. He had to miss his flight today back to Canada :(

Good luck ftgpmb. But if you get your passport back without a visa what happens to your PR application? Would you just re-send your passport back to London once you land in Canada?

Re: Drop off and pick up service in london We're kicking ourselves right now. My hubby landed in London on a Friday morning and we were debating whether he should take the train/bus up to London (from Exeter) and hand it in personally. But we were like "oh...that's an extra week" it'll be...

You make it sound so straight forward! Unless of course you are the unlucky ones who have the doors slammed in their face because it's past 3pm. Or those of us who live so far away! But you are right, if you have the chance to go this route do it!

If it has been that long then they will respond to your phone call, therefore, you will definitely speak to a human being. I would call if I were you. Also, are you in the UK or Canada? Thanks.
