    June 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

As a follow-up to my last post, good luck and congrats if you can avoid the lineups. I spent over 8 hours today, starting at 6:45am at the North York office to get my passport application submitted. Never in my life have I had to wait so long in a line. The process itself was painless...

    June 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

For those interested, as I generally haven't seen it this quick for others - it only took 3 business days for my Oath Certificate to arrive in the mail. Oath on Tuesday, case closed Wednesday, Certificate in mailbox Friday. Scarborough office. The only advice I can give is to follow the...

    June 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

We may have been in the same ceremony, as I have the same timelines. Oath on the 14th, updated to completed by 6AM the 15th. (shouting to the clouds) I wish the folks maintaining the Google sheet would add more data points, especially around the post Oath dates....e.g. when the system shows...

    June 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

As an IT person myself, there's a lot of factors in the data we don't know, but I'm certain the government likes it that way. As an American, I already had NEXUS, which means I went through a background check on both sides. I wasn't asked for a FP, and I assume being a NEXUS holder was the...

    Canadian Passport in person timeline

Can you elaborate on the "even longer and more packed" statement? Not sure if you had posted you applied in another office, but I sense it is brutal at this location, which I'm going to visit the moment I get my Certificate of Citizenship. I'm planning to get there by 7am with a flight...

Exactly the same for me. Just wish I could've selected a different time, but beggars can't be choosers.

    June 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

Agree 100% here. It really is brutal. I wonder if it would go any faster if they removed the silly guarantor / reference nonsense. I'm not at this stage yet, but as a frequent traveler outside Canada, I think I may just bite the bullet, and pay the additional $110 to be done with this step...

Is it going to be possible to get an urgent passport appointment?

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but for the folks below, what was your experience as American's using only your US Passport to re-enter Canada before receiving your Canadian passport? I'm expect my OATH certificate to arrive before departing to the US, but in general, I'd rather keep it safe at...

My Urgent Passport pick-up experience: Walk-in to walk-out with Passport in 3 hours.

Yeah, I don't think NEXUS helps at all here, because it reflects my US citizenship, and I'm not going to change it from that as the primary-identified citizenship.

My Urgent Passport pick-up experience: Walk-in to walk-out with Passport in 3 hours.

Yeah, I think you are generally correct - a passport isn't needed as a dual citizen of US + CA, but it would certainly be less troublesome to have it.

My Urgent Passport pick-up experience: Walk-in to walk-out with Passport in 3 hours.

@Mexontario, really appreciate this thread. I haven't done the OATH yet, but it will be within 2 weeks of a US trip, and curious if you can provide any evidence around the land border difference...I can't find much on this site. I'm trying to understand if I really need to go for urgent...

    June 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

@evdm @RocketReach See you guys on June 14. I also got a Oath Invite for the same day. Only took one day from all other milestones completed, to "waiting on you" for Oath Invite.

Congrats, I just logged in today and noticed I now have the same status. All milestones completed except the Ceremony. No DM yet though. Progress...I'll take it!

    June 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

I suspect this is my issue as well. Test done March 2, completed March 7. Literally dozens of exits from Canada they have to pore over. I'm sure they are questioning my calculation specific to "partial days". One would think they share enough data with the US CBP that this would be a piece...

IRCC Scarborough Applicants - Online Test/Interview/DM/Oath

Glad you posted this, so we know what we're in for. I'm planning to go to 4900 Yonge when I get to this stage...hope it's not like this!

    June 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

Every case can be different, but the only way I can think of to estimate this is look at other peoples stats in the Google Doc. My application is assigned to the Scarborough office, and it looks like there's ~6-8 week wait between testing complete to DM.

I would think so! Always fascinating with these timelines. I have a later AOR, but completed the test earlier than @jain12, and showed test completion in the tracker on an earlier date. Either way, seeing June filers getting Decision Made is good!
