    as far as i know, as long as he wasnt on social assistance/welfare he should be okay...i sponsored my wife with no problems while i was on e.i. im not an authority though, so maybe call in and double check... good luck

    My wife just got her passport back with a shiny canadian permanent resident visa in it!!!! all in all, a few days shy of 5 months from the day I mailed in the initial package to Mississauga. So not too bad...Glad to be done with all the hassle and stress of waiting for it to process. Good...

    got some good news in the form of a PPR today...exactly 4 years to the day that we first met...kind of a sweet gift from the embassy we thought.... just shy of 3 months from the date they started processing it in korea... good luck to those still waiting...

    gteacher- I sent our application to canada on the 24th of november, started processing on the 29 of december in seoul...i checked out your previous posts, and it appears that we both got canadian approval on dec.17...yours started processing on dec.22 where as mine started on the 27th...guess...

    i think the photo specifications differ according to geographic supplementary package...for korea, we needed name,date of birth, and date photo taken on back of one and only one.....

    separate photos for proof for the two of us??

    For a spousal sponsorship with no dependants, or other accompanying family, there is no financial requirements of the sponsor though I thought? (unless I was on social assistance or something?) I am currently on E.I. but have a good job I will be returning to eventually when business picks up...
