Special case of "living with Canadian citizen abroad"

Thank you so much for the information, friends! The last thing I want is to lose my PR while chasing my career ambitions. Having a career but staying without a place I can call home would be rather unfortunate.

Special case of "living with Canadian citizen abroad"

Many thanks Leon. I guess it is probably going to be alright at the end, but certainly I will have few stressful years before I return to Canada.

Special case of "living with Canadian citizen abroad"

Hi everyone, I wonder if someone can advise on the following situation. We (me and my spouse) have arrived to Canada in May 2007 as foreign workers, got our PR and landed in July 2010. Since then we live in Canada (although with frequent short trips abroad). I have recently accepted a job offer...

PR card renewal - living with canadian citizen outside Canada

Dear PMM, are you sure? It can create very strange situations...Let's say a Canadian PR is abroad because his/her Canadian citizen partner got a job there...And let's say they are abroad for the last 5 years. One day a Canadian citizen comes home and informs the partner that they are not...

Residency obligation at the moment you collect your new PR card?

Dear friends, I have a question about a situation when someone is submitting his PR renewal application after accumulating 730 days in the last 5 years, but might not meet the residency obligations at the moment he/she collects the new PR card… Are they looking at your situation at the moment...

Share you experience at customs with a valid PR card but not completed 730 days

Thanks for sharing. Can I ask how you have crossed the border? Was it by air or by land? If by land, in a bus/train or in a private car?

    after 65 days got 2 PR cards.....spouse's hasn't come

Same here...landed on July 16th and no cards...my friend landed on July 17th and got his card end of August. I can't understand the logics behind all this but there is no other choice than waiting. I am wondering if its related to where we do the landing. My landing was in the airport, my friend...

residency obligation for a travel document

I may be wrong here...but it looks to me that according to what is written above, one can spend outside Canada 3 years, while his/her spouse is in Canada (thus, spouse met his/her residency obligation). Then, the spouse can join the person outside Canada and for next 3 years they are both fine...

    Medicals and High BP

Hi IT applicant, If DMP did some additional tests, he had to inform you about that. If he didnt, he probably didnt do any. Most probably in Ottawa they will agree with your DMP, but sometimes they can ask for additional tests and your DMP will have to perform them. Its a remote possibility - but...

    Medicals and High BP

Hey... It is most probably OK, but they might ask for some additional tests (for example blood test to monitor kidney function (creatinine) and/or more intensive urine test). Have your DMP tried to measure the BB again after you have rested for 10-15 min? That would be an appropriate thing to...

Attention – Buffalo applicants who got request for documents but not medicals

Hi friends, There is a group of Buffalo applicants (mostly people who applied end of 2008-beginning of 2009) who got request for additional documents in the beginning of 2010 and nothing since then. The request was rather random (some people were asked to send tax returns, some proof of funds...

Staying Back in USA - Got GC-- PR withdraw

Congrats ADA! Those are great news but also sad news as well. Yet another family gave up on "Canadian dream" due to too long waiting times. Sometimes I think that Buffalo office makes it longer in purpose to encourage these kinds of scenarios.

    Buffalo Applicants:Discussion

It looks like there is some movement recently. People who applied in Jan and Feb 2009 started to get some letters from CIC - mostly requests for additional documents though (including myself). But there are few applicants ontrackitt from jan 2009 who got their medicals. Things are moving...

    Land by Road: Possibly Buffalo

I actually was thinking about taking bus as well for this purpose...My concern is that if you do landing while coming by bus...since the process takes some time, the other passengers in the bus will have to wait until you complete the process?? Thats my concern, but may be someone has some real...

Right of Permanent Residence Fees with Police Clearance Certificate

I am in similar situation with Buffalo office...they asked to provide 2 police certificates and gave me 2 months for that (and sent me this letter just before Christmas vacations...). No way I am going to make it in 2 months period, so I will have to ask for extention. My lawyer, however, says...
