    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

Two days ago we received the PR cards. Took about two weeks. All the best everyone!

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

It took us about 10 calendar days to receive the passport request email (the email was received without any MyCIC status update).

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

Update on our flag-pole experience Yesterday, my parents successfully landed at the Douglas Crossing here in BC. We drove to arrive to the US border shortly after lunch -- usually humans are slightly happier after they eat. There was no lineup - I obviously consulted travel.gc.ca for border...

Sorry to hear about the delay -- which is all I think it is. I sent the passports early December and they were received four days later (unlike the "next business day" service CP promises). One thing you can do is ask for a full refund from Canada Post -- I have done this a few times in the past.

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

Folks, I know I asked this before, but here's an extension to what I previously asked. I intend to accompany my parents (drive down to Peace Arch) for the flag-pole. I have am a citizen with nexus, they have no US visa. We will obviously be administratively refused entry into the US. Are you...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

This evening we received the passports. In total, it took us three weeks from the point CPC-O received the package.

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

Alright, folks. My parents' GCKey application page was updated last night showing the application has been approved, and detailing the counterfoil numbers and COPR expiry dates. The Canada Post XPress post tracking has not yet been activated. Good luck to all!

I still haven't seen any updates on ECAS or by email for the COPR processing -- has anybody received their passports back from CPC-O (with the COPRs, obviously)?

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

Any updates from anybody who's sent their passports to CPC-Ottawa for the COPR late November or early December?

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

For whatever reason, CPC-M is, on average, very slow at issuing passport requests. In my case, I got it five days after DM, but I know of friends who are waiting for weeks... An email to them wouldn't hurt.

The decision has been made for the fact that you are eligible to sponsor your mother. However, her PR application is in process and will require a separate decision.

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

I think you need not worry - the letter covers all necessary scenarios - passports requiring visas to enter Canada vs. passports that don't; sponsored parties that are currently in Canada vs. those that have returned to their country, etc. When you get the passport request letter, read it...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

A technical clarification: What matters is the the date on the CBSA entry stamp (ask them directly if the passport wasn't stamped). So, while the visa may expire tomorrow, your parent can stay until the date on the CBSA stamp (up to 6 months since the most recent entry date for non-super visa...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

One year from the date you did your medical exam -- it will state it on the COPR form.

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

In the passport request letter you shall receive from CPC-M, it will give you two options: (1) if your parents are in Canada (and plan to stay for at least 3 months), then you can send your passports to CPC-Ottawa (likely) (2) if not, they will advise which overseas office. Now, if your...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

My parents are in Canada. The passport request letter gives you a buffer of one month. If your parents are traveling, they should obviously come back and send the passports to a CPC in Canada (likely Ottawa) based on the Canadian address provided in their application. If they cannot make it...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

The system updates appear to be behind email communications. For instance, application profile shows Decision Made (for two weeks now), with the latest update making no sense ("You passed medical exams in August" -- which was already there, but got a new update date). Yet, we received the...

    Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

Folks, a question (which I asked in my previous post at https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/parents-and-grandparents-sponsorship-2019.611761/page-2086#post-8360751): Is flag-pole a better option that waiting for an in-Canada interview with IRCC? Are there any...

Update from my side: Application received by CPC-M: 2019.05.09 Biometrics given: 2019.08.21 (in Seattle, WA) Medicals passed: 2019.08.20 (in Vancouver, BC) Family relationship proof requested on 2019.10.21 - I resubmitted whatever I had previously submitted -- they accepted the same document...
