    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

That is strange. File transfers (when they need verification or interview) usually happen during normal processing time which is 6 months at the moment, and its normally transferred to your local CIC office. I would call the call center to verify.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Congrats! When I received the AIP email it says "you can apply for a work permit or student permit" , but directly under that is a box with a cross mark that says "your open work permit is approved and you will be receiving the document shortly. (Received in mailbox after 5 days). If your work...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

That's the ideal but a lot of inland applicants have gone in and out of the country with no problems . It is generally not advised because for whatever reason you are not allowed entry, the application will be considered abandoned and you will have to start all over in your home country.

I am 100% sure as I did the same , sent open work permit application without putting a note. They know you want the open work permit processed after AIP if its with the same envelope. I got the open work permit 5 days after I get the AIP email. Sometimes reading too much information on the forum...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Did you send the open work permit application with your spousal sponsorship (same envelope) ? If you did then you have nothing to worry about, They will process your open work permit when you get Approval in Principle which is in 6 months.

Same with me, We wanted to do outland because it was faster but had no choice since we already did medical and all forms for inland, but like a charm the processing of stage 1 went down from 11 months to 6 months so now we have an open work permit. Just can't travel yet but its ok .

Can someone please please please clear this up for us?

She is right based from what I read from the work permit forums. I've been on closed work permit for 4 years too. I also know a few people who had the same issue (worked with expired sin while waiting for the new work permit) and they never had problems.
