Just got PR - Do We Need a New Manitoba Health Card?

Hello! My husband just landed as a PR recently (Manitoba), and we were wondering if we have to get a NEW Manitoba Health Card. I saw NEW because he was a student here before becoming a PR, and under a relatively new (~1-2 years old) law, in Manitoba students are given health benefits, so he...

Landed ! It was so anticlimactic. Went to border guard from US side, they asked ME some questions (how much did you spend, etc), then sent us inside. Gave paperwork to immigration, sat for 5 min, came back up and got passport back, went to customs and gave them B4/B4A, sat for 5 min, then left...

It is always mailed, and if you have Decision Made it will likely show up in a week or two

In Manitoba, if you are here for more than 6 months you have to give up your US one and get a MB one. (may be different in other provinces) There are some exceptions for specific visas (students)

I think you mean PPR? PPR - passport request (near the end! Unless you need an interview) COPR - confirmation of permanent residency (the end!)

I think the way to check is to put in the UCI for the person being sponsored (if they have one), whatever the mailing address says on ECAS is likely where it will be sent.

The person BEING sponsored. In our case, my husband was here on a student visa, they mailed it to us in Canada.

Thanks all! comecome - Parent sponsorship is different from spousal, so I can't answer most of your questions, but regarding E-CAS: E-cas is extremely unpredictable. Some people have reported it going from "In Process" to "Decision Made" and back to "In Process"! In fact, my e-cas currently...

Oh man, that made me laugh so hard XD My eCas has been weird lately (same for many people, I have seen in other threads). MY UCI logging in shows nothing, but logging in using my husband's UCI shows "Decision Made" A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you...

(Reposted from another thread) Regarding COPR -- I am a May applicant, PPR Jan 18th. I have a bit of an update. My husband's student visa expires next week, so we went to the border hoping to get a one month visitor visa until the COPR arrives. We get there, and the border guard wonders why we...

I would expect that if it requires a signature it would be approved. I think when they deny you, they just send a regular letter... where as approval would mean they sent the visitor visa
