Yes , that's true in case you have to be personally present for passport stamping when the Visa office asks for the passport. Are you sure you have to be there at that time for stamping or you can just send the passport?

There may also be a problem if i give my india address , then when they ask for passport i would need to find some way to send it to US as it's not legal to send it by mail and even if you send the pasport by other means , the Visa office will not send it back to india address, so it's safe to...

Did you check if you and each family person need to be present in NY with their passports. If personal presence is not required , i would suggest you can either FEDX or send it along some family or friend who is going to US. Let us know what you finally decide as this same issue i will also be...

i have also applied from Buffalo though i will also be going back to india in december. i have heard that applying from US , processing is faster than from new delhi.you will get the PR between 6 and 12 months.

There is no need of any request form .go to the the local police center ,Just show them the immigration checklist and that you required it for immigration purpose. i got it done and they charge a fees of $5 to get the fingerprints .
