Buffalo to Ottawa Transferred Cases(FSW) - Pls join here

Well after about three emails to CIC, it got cleared up that my spouse never need to submit a police cert for China when she had been there only 3 months. I guess the lesson learned there is that the CIC is reasonable in reviewing its decisions if given politely-worded requests. But it was a...

Buffalo to Ottawa Transferred Cases(FSW) - Pls join here

So I got a updated doc, police cert, medical request recently. (yay!) But the officer is requiring a CHINA police cert for my spouse who has never been to China more than 3 months. We also need HK certs, but that was expected because my spouse grew up in HK and I lived there for four years...

Police certificate from China (non-national, < 6 months)

My spouse who is from Hong Kong is being requested not just for a HK police cert but also one from China (PRC). However she is not a PRC national and her longest stay was only 3 months on contact job in Shanghai. I am trying to get a hold of the Ottawa office to see if there was a mistake...

    MAY 2012 Applicants

It's great to see there is finally movement on the 2012 applicants. I still haven't heard anything yet. Is everyone here using the Trackitt? I have been watching 9 other cases from the first half of 2012 and see more than 50% have started processing. Not sure if I can post an external link...

Buffalo to Ottawa Transferred Cases(FSW) - Pls join here

MI-3 is the third set of ministerial instructions that took effect for federal skilled worker applications in June 2011. That means any applications between Jun 2011 -2012 are considered MI-3 cases.

Buffalo to Ottawa Transferred Cases(FSW) - Pls join here

It might help to have some hard data to look at then just speculation about what Buffalo and Ottawa are doing. First off in US visa offices, what's the current number of FSW cases pending? Well, there are about 773 MI-3 cases (Jun/2011 - Jun/2012) pending, where virtually all are pending...

Buffalo to Ottawa Transferred Cases(FSW) - Pls join here

Just applied a couple months ago, got PER but no other message since then. Ecas status just shows that application was received (CIO-Sydney). Really hoping that Ottawa is going to break away from the bad history of Buffalo.

what is the difference between 'occupation' and 'job'

Yep. For instance, you said you have three RN jobs. I would have put 3152 on the form once and in the "main duties" section I would have summarized the duties of those three different jobs as if they were one. I did wonder a bit about this because sometimes the job duties are not exactly the...

what is the difference between 'occupation' and 'job'

I had the same question when I was filling out that form. I never got a clear answer but ended up just recording combined years of experience in each NOC (i.e one occupation entry on that form could correspond to multiple jobs I held in the field). My app is still in processing so can't say if...

    MAY 2012 Applicants

CA_PR, read the bulletin for all the details: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob425.asp After you get a PER, then the CIO will send your application to Ottawa instead of Buffalo for processing. No one knows yet if it will be faster or slower than it was before.

    FSW2- Trf Buffalo to ottawa

Nope, but very curious to see what is going to happen. I just put in my app last month and figure it's being sent straight to Ottawa. According to Canadian Experience Class applicants, looks like 2-3 months between PER and AOR.

    MAY 2012 Applicants

CA_PR, the qualifications have definitely become stricter since 2008, so there should be less applications than before for FSW. The global cap has also been reduced. In previous years it was 20,000 and now it is 10,000. So it's not that Canada is less preferred but it's more difficult. Also...
