If they had made the decision already either pass or fail before sending the passport request then shouldn't it be processed much more faster? because they already made a decision? Does it take a year?

How long does a DM actually take? I thought it would only take 3-5 months after you sent the Passport, medicals and other documents? Does anyone know someone who waited more than 6 months?
