I did my medical on April 18th 2009, haven't heard anything from Buffalo yet. My Colleague did his medical (+ family) around the same time and they are already done (got PR on 12th June). I know guys who are waiting over 9 months after the medicals and still no news. So it really depends.

My Colleague just got his PR stamps in passport (June 12th). Whole family (Couple and 2 kids) He applied in UK in Oct 2008, then flew to BC, Canada in January. It went really fast for him.

Just did ours at Metrotown, Vancouver, BC Medical exam costs 150 CAD, X-RAY 40-65 CAD (40 when done in New West lab, 65 if done in Metrotown). So for an adult its roughly 200CAD. For minors its less.
