I was having the same situation. I travelled to Canada just when My PR was valid only for another five months. I was in without any questioning.

My PR Card expired before six months and I am in Canada from last one year with my family. Is it possible that I apply for the PR Card renewal as I have to go back to my country to settle an urgent issue. I want to keep rest of my family here. Please advise.

I want to renew my Indian Passport but my PR Card is expired. Indian Consulate require a valid PR card to renew the passport. I cannot renew the PR card at this point of time because I don't fullfill residency obligation. Does any body know whether I can renew or not.

Yes, Driving Licence and Passport Can be used as two photo Id's.

It is not possible to apply for an alternate ID Card If you a driving Licence. I got this info from Registry.
