Congrats Robhi! I know we applied around the same time but yours was quite delayed! my husband and I live in Toronto too. when we got the COPR we went to buffalo to "land". There was a lane where you can turn around before getting to the US customs so you head back to the Canadian customs. Only...

My husband officially "landed" on Saturday. We drove to the buffalo border but turned around and went straight to Canada customs. It only took about 10 minutes. They asked for our marriage certificate which I didn't expect but luckily we had it on us.

Can my husband travel while waiting for PR card?

We are currently waiting for COPR which should be coming soon. Once we get this, its my understanding that the PR card can take quite some time to arrive. We have a wedding to go to in England in May. If my husband has "landed" but doesnt have the actual PR card yet, can he still travel?

Just got another email from my attorney

My lawyer told me I'd have to wait a lot longer but she was wrong. I found that she didn't know much more than me. I wouldn't worry so much. I got more useful info from this forum than my lawyer

On the CIC website under "check application", it says that the updates only get changed on Tuesdays. Is this true? Should I stop checking once a day?

Mine says the same too... "Medical Documents Received"... so frustrating. I don't think I'll actually enquire until the 9 month mark if I haven't heard anything yet... don't want to tick them off.

Hi Mel, Don't worry too much, you should get sponsor approval any day now. I would assume that CIC would be a few days behind given the Christmas holidays. Once you get sponsor approval, the package will get sent to Sydney. Once Sydney receives it they will send you an email and a link to track...

Hi Marie-Lou, Since your Aussie man worked in Canada for a year... yes he will need a police clearance from Canada. I don't have any experience with Inland, all I know is it takes longer. If you get all of your documents together you could apply for outland right now. Going rate is 6 months of...
