    Extending My Stay

It would be fine since you applied for an extension when your status was valid (you will be in implied status). You apply for restoration only when you lose your status. You lose your status when you do not apply for an extension before the expiry of current status.

    Extending My Stay

If they deny your extension they would ask you to leave Canada immediately (you will have 30 days). Check this link if you need more information: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/temporary-visitor-visa-denied-advice-please-t22137.0.html

    Extending My Stay

I do not think it can be done in 30 days (as the timeline says around 104 days). You can stay in Canada till you hear from CIC.

Dependant visa rejection - Work Permit

CIC might have approved his work permit since he had family back home and would have assumed that after his work permit expiry he would return back. But in your case it is not like that, there are no strong ties for you to return back.

Dependant visa rejection - Work Permit

Your husband who is working temporarily is considered a potential immigrant in the near future. CIC might have assumed that you applied for temporary visa but might prolong your stay once in Canada. I might be wrong.

Studying 2 different programs (1 year each) - will my education qualify for CEC?

anim_geek: If it is 2 courses of 1 yr. then atleast one of them has to be a Master's degree. mmr: If you have not applied for post-graduate work permit then you would be eligible to get a 3 yrs. open work permit. It should not matter on how many programs you do.

Reentry into Canada from U.S. on a single entry visa

If your work permit is valid then you can work even if your visa expires. If your PR application is in progress then there are chances that your temporary resident visa (TRV) might be refused (CIC would assume that you might overstay).

If you plan to take up 1 yr. program and an additional 1 yr. program to fulfill CEC requirement of 2 yrs. study, then certificates and diplomas will not count under this exception (you have to have a Master's degree of 1 yr.). If you want to qualify with 1 yr. program then you should work for 2...
