Use the first one if you are sending regular mail. If you use Canada post express or any other courier, use the second one. I would recommend using Canada post express, it would allow you track and its quite faster as well, takes only couple business days and you also get a proof of delivery.

Also, I wouldn't worry too much about the ecas status. The letter that you received in mail is the main thing. Good luck with your exam!

ecas status is still 'In process' but a new line has been added with something like 'We sent you a letter on xx.xx.xxxx to appear for a citizenship test....'

I just checked my mailbox and the letter is here too. I guess it's more like a address proof from CIC.

The letter was sent out on 10/2 so with the weekend its just couple days.

My ecas has a new line indicating the time and date of my exam and it says that a letter has been sent out.

I dont think there is anything to worry about. Mine reached there on 20th but still no news. I guess it depends who gets your file..
