I know passport applications are not accepted at the passport offices/service Canada at this time, but do you know if we can still apply by mail or mailing applications is for urgent cases only, the website isnot clear and I can’t find a number to call that would let me speak to an actual agent...

My application was processed at the same time as yours and the certificate was finally mailed last week.. I applied end of June... so I think they are currently working on normal processing applications that were received in June/July.

I just saw that my application was finally processed and mailed March 11....That is 8.5 months in total! They seem to be processing June/July 2019 applications these days... hopefully everyone who has been waiting would hear back soon.

I got my certificate mailed on the 11th as well! For me it has been 8.5 months since the application was received. Seems they are working on June/July applications.

I sent an application to reflect a name change from within Canada that was received end of June ... then got AOR end of August... and then nothing after that... and when I inquired I got the same reply of higher volume of applications as well.

I am experiencing a similar delay as well and also for reflecting a name change...My application was received end of June... AOR end of August... and then nothing after that! When I inquire I get a reply that nothing is missing and essentially to just wait

Yes citizenship was pretty fast... but I am not sure what is going on with the proofs... but it seems to me like a general delay not case specific... but I am not sure how much of a delay to expect and When I inquire I get generic replies.

It has been 8 months for me so far under normal processing ! It is to fix the name as well. So not sure if 5 months is currently applicable.

Wondering if you got this sorted out, was the booked airline ticket a valid reason for urgent processing? I am kinda in the same boat and it has been 8 months already for a name change under normal processing and so far when I inquire about the status of the application, I get generic replies

Did you try to call them and inquire about the reason for delay and may be ask them if tickets booked under the new name would qualify you for urgent processing. It has been 7 months for me so far - to change the name as well - and I called several times and have only been told they currently...

No mistakes as far as I know... it is a routine application to change the name on the certificate... The call center told me the reason for the delay is that they currently have a higher volume of applications, so I was looking to figure out how far behind are they by checking if anyone else had...
