FYI: Travel w/o PR card ( ONLY for citizens from visa exempt countries )

Thanks a lot for that iam_Toby, very helpful. I did my landing on Saturday and will be off to Germany from Sep 16 - Oct 1. So I won't get my PR card in time. I now contacted the visa offices in Vienna and Düsseldorf to see what they say. Where it is best to apply for the travel document and how...

    NOVEMBER 2013 APPLICATIONS

I never had to send in my passport. Being a German citizen, Germany is a visa exempt country, I just had to go to a port of entry with my passport and documents.

Got my CPR but will leave the country before getting my PR Card....

Thanks a lot for all that, sounds all good to me! Will do the landing the next days (got a sprained ankle and can't walk... Note: never try to outrun a dog on a steep trail full of rocks and roots) and will ask the officers there as well. Thanks again

Got my CPR but will leave the country before getting my PR Card....

How sure are you about that? That's what's stated in the other link: Travel outside Canada/US: You will not be able to re-enter Canada using the CoPR. To re-enter Canada at an airport after completing the landing, without your PR card, you will have to apply for a travel document while you're...

Got my CPR but will leave the country before getting my PR Card....

That's exactly what I'll do now. The reason for going to a port of entry tomorrow and get it all done was just to get the industrial fishing license, which requires to be a PR. It's all about earning some extra money... ;)

    NOVEMBER 2013 APPLICATIONS

Hi everybody!!!! Just a post to keep up the good spirit... I applied for PR under the CEC in late November 2013 and got my CPR late in July 2014. Unfortunately my flatmate didn't notice the letter (containing the CPR) in the mail so it was just found yesterday. I had a big disappointment with...

Got my CPR but will leave the country before getting my PR Card....

Thanks a lot astasi. This really sucks for me but I think the best choice would be... Scenario #2: You haven't completed the landing yet, your CoPR is still valid, but you want to travel soon If you CoPR is valid long enough, you may travel before completing the landing and complete the...

Hi everybody!!!! I applied for PR under the CEC in late November 2013 and finally got my CPR! I will go to to the Point Roberts Point of Entry in Tsawwassen tomorrow to get my documents signed. If I understood everything right CIC will then send me my initial PR Card, right? The processing...

Tips for a successful BOWP application

Thanks LPS. I think they have the choices which reason for refusal to put in the letter. Sitting there on a desk with a fresh coffee and then choosing what reasons to put in the letter... and just to piss me off they add the "not provided evidence that you received a positive eligibility...

Tips for a successful BOWP application

Good morning guys! I wish I had stayed in bed longer today.... Woke up with a message from CIC about my refusal for the OWP. Any chance to get an OWP???

Thanks LPS. I tried every option they give me and it all sucks. If I choose 'new employer', they want the address and name of the new employer. If I leave it blank I can't validate the form and won't get the barcodes. I will call them tomorrow and see what the person from the CIC hotline says (I...
