Which method are you using to apply for residency? The Canadian Experience Class has only been around for a few years, and even their website states 15 months is the average processing time (which I'm sure is over stated to lower expectations of applicants) The CEC wasn't around in 2006.

I've been using: Application Number. It's in the top left hand corner of the Acknowledgment of Receipt you receive when they first email you.
