Shell be in Venezuela for several months. But if sendin them is illegal, then that's super messy.

Thank you. What if I just mail her the pr card before she flies back? She listed my address as her mailing address in Canada.

Another question for the gurus... I have a friend who is Canadian by birth who married a Venezuelan woman who got her PR. They arrived a couple weeks ago and have not yet received the PR card. They are leaving in a couple days back to Venezuela. How long can she stay out while maintaining...

Lol, I've been pretty busy so haven't had much time to obsess about the process, also figured stressing about it wasn't going to make it happen any faster.

Crossed with ease once one of the 10 officers lounging about decided to check my stuff. As mentioned, will go to service Canada to get SIN. probably do it tomorrow if Ive got the time.

Hey. I applied a year ago I guess, don't really remember exactly when. I'm not sure what e-cas is. Sorry :)

I got my COPR in the mail the other day, so I'm gonna flagpole tomorrow. Can I look for work once I cross with a COPR or do I have to wait for the card in the mail? Also, when do I get a SIN? Thanks!

    Police Clearance from Venezuela

If the person at your visa office is nice and honest, they'll tell you to do it yourself, considering how long it takes to do it the "official" way (about six months).

Everyone is different (especially border guards), but in my experience, I don't see how you could get in trouble for this. I've been in Canada for more than a year and am even a taxable resident because I've spent all but 10 days of that time in Canada. The first time I crossed I brought in 4...

I did my medical in January of last year, so I figured it would expire soon. Buffalo told me they got an extension on the results, so with any luck I will have enough time so I can go on a trip and come back by the end of February then cross with the COPR.

I do know about importing goods later, but I don't have any. I sold my car and house and everything in it when we moved here two years ago. We fit anything we didn't sell in a couple suitcases and came on up. I had thought about getting an American car when we first moved, but didn't seem...

By activating it I meant using it to cross, as in activating the OHIP wait period.

A few months would work just fine. I guess that's what I've seen happen to friends from South America but wondered if they gave more time since they weren't actually inside the country.

I guess that other 20% could bring the average down. I've seen the averages from other places, namely capitals in South America, where the months posted are between 18 and 21, and all the people I know got them in less than four.

Just because they haven't been on this forum doesn't mean they've been waiting patiently :D

So is 3-4 week turnaround from sending passport copy and getting COPR back the max you've seen? How long do they usually give to activate it?

I lumped myself with the "chosen" but seems like I'm on the long end of the spectrum, I think mine took at least ten months. I havent really been keeping track. In retrospect maybe some stuff would've sped it up, but my motivation for being employable was pretty low, guess I like video games too...

This has probably been mentioned before, so ignore this as needed, but... The official average for outland Buffalo applicants is 11 months, but the average of people on this forum seems closer to 6-7. Are we all just the chosen ones or do they inflate the average for some reason? :D

    Police Clearance from Venezuela

Are you speaking specifically of Venezuela? If not, it could be different for your country. In my case, I sent a scan of my ID card and a scan of a signed letter giving them authorization to get all the documents I needed. There was no need for a thumb print, I guess because they had a copy...

    Police Clearance from Venezuela

I'm pretty much done with the process. Should have PR in a month or so, so I'm getting by with the bare minimum. I'm American/Venezuelan so had the joy of getting a Venezuelan police clearance and one for every state I'd ever lived in. I got fingerprinted so many times all the cops at my local...
