Hi Everyone, A little bit of background. My wife arrived in Dec.2012 in Canada from China, sponsored by myself. She has a son, who at that time was in her ex-husband custody. We did the medicals, pictures, etc... for both of them at that time (as requirement for my wife and for her son as...

Congratulations to motorcycle rider, Robyn and zeushk. Seems that in the last several months, the HK VO is moving fast. This may drive down exponentially the processing time for HK. This is a good thing for all of us, allowing us to be re-united quicker with our loved ones.

Yes, she was supposed to get her passport back with the visa on June 27, then on June 21 she received an e-mail saying that her case was referenced for further checks, which would last 3 months, so yes, they held her passport since June 20.

Health insurance in canada during first three months

For the first three months you have to buy health insurance yourself. Depending on your medical condition, you have to shop around to find the best rate for the coverage you may need (ususally goes from 10,000$ to 150,000). I found for my wife a coverage for 50,000$, and I pay 60.00$ per month...

Hong Kong Spouse, Sponsorship, Citizenship I am so confused!

For straighforward and very well documented cases, HK VO actually may be less than 6 months total (stage 1 + 2)- see FS and mobeyk cases on HK Time Line thread. You two already having a child, just gather and build a bullit proof case and she can get her PR in 6 months. It is a bit of work to...
