Just an update...my PR card finally came today, 7 weeks 2 days after I landed. I must say too...the card is really cool. lol

I was told at the border to call CIC if my PR card didn't arrive within 4 weeks. I called last Thursday and the automated message said that they are currently processing cards for those who landed up to July 20, and if you landed after that time, your card has not been processed yet.

After they request your passport and you are approved, they will mail the COPR, instructions for landing and your passport with PR visa inside. Other than those two things all you are required to bring is your birth certificate, though I'm not sure they always ask for this but they asked to see...

When you land they ask if you have had any criminal convictions since applying, any additional dependents since than and if anything has changed regarding your relationships status. They are just verifying that there have been no changes in your situation since you sent in your application.

Mine was sent to NYC too and it took about 2 months to process from there. Mine said "medicals received" even before they transferred the file. Hang in there!

You don't need a co-signer for spousal sponsorship. There are no minimum income requirements in that category.
