An Americal illegally in Canada, Inside or outside class??

No, we didn't overlap addresses, just one ending and the next beginning and so on. I did explain further in my cover letter that my mailing address had always remained at my mother's address.

Questions about Landing (and a Thank You!)

Don't stress...the hard part is over...deep breaths! ;) Passport w/ visa, COPR and birth cert. would be the most he would need I would think. The interview is not a grilling type interview, it is just for them to make sure your status has not changed regarding your criminal record, dependents...

    Landing Final Question

I was told at the border to call CIC if my PR card didn't arrive within 4 weeks. I called last Thursday and the automated message said that they are currently processing cards for those who landed up to July 20, and if you landed after that time, your card has not been processed yet.

LANDING Thursday (TORONTO)…do I need a Birth Certificate?

Re: LANDING Thursday (TORONTO)...do I need a Birth Certificate? They asked to see my birth certificate, not sure the reason. I'd say if it's a rare thing that they ask for it, you'll probably be fine and if they do ask for it just explain about the office being closed and that you plan on...

What do you bring with you to the border when landing as a PR?

After they request your passport and you are approved, they will mail the COPR, instructions for landing and your passport with PR visa inside. Other than those two things all you are required to bring is your birth certificate, though I'm not sure they always ask for this but they asked to see...

Finally online all about our landing in Toronto

When you land they ask if you have had any criminal convictions since applying, any additional dependents since than and if anything has changed regarding your relationships status. They are just verifying that there have been no changes in your situation since you sent in your application.

    Medicals Received

Mine was sent to NYC too and it took about 2 months to process from there. Mine said "medicals received" even before they transferred the file. Hang in there!

    Landing- Goods to come

I would write a list of what you are bringing and anything that might follow just in case, as they did make me fill out these forms when I landed and having a list ready just made it that much easier. It doesn't have to be extremely specific, mine said things like "3 bags of clothing, 1 bag of...

    Anybody waiting for PR card?

They asked about if they hadn't received the PR "CARD" yet though, and you can get a SIN if you applied outland and have landed but haven't gotten your card yet, I got mine the day after I landed. You can find the info you need here: http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sc/sin/index.shtml

IMM 5490 and IMM 1344 help please.

You don't need a co-signer for spousal sponsorship. There are no minimum income requirements in that category.

    originals vs photocopies

I sent all photocopies of stuff except where they specified the original was necessary. For pictures I color photocopied them 4 to a page leaving room to write the date, identify the place, event and people. Even for the forms a lot of mine were photocopied and it wasn't a problem. They even...

    Getting Medicals Approved

Wow...was it extremely high? High blood pressure can cause a number of serious complications if left untreated...perhaps the DMP viewed this as a possible burden on the health care system? Although I thought they could not refuse spousal sponsorships for something so minor. My BP was high when...
