Rajesh, 1. For proof of funds, I showed USD 28,000 (USD 8000 cash and USD 20,000 cashiers check). This was just to be on safe side. But for a family of 3 you are required to show only $16,967 You can see the matrix at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp - It is for skilled...

Hello goingalberta, I feel this may work. The best way to handle this is to send them whatever you have and if they need anything additional then they will ask you.

Hello Nix/Satyac, Read this experience on Murthy.com and it may give little more clarity/. "we can not send the PR cards to some one other than you" - this is what immigration officer said. http://murthyforum.atinfopop.com/4/OpenTopic?a=tpc&s=1024039761&f=2124039761&m=7511088581

Hi Stayac, My PR Visa is valid till Aug '10. I'm planning to get into Alberta by Jun this year and I'll have a permanent address there before landing. I do not really see any valid options without actually getting yourself into CA.

Hello Satyac, After lot of research I found out that this is not a legitimate way to get your PR card. You must have your own address in Canada to get PR. However, I can see from this forum that lot of ppl are getting their PR at their friend's address which is not legal either.

Satyac, Though its required to give your permanent address in Canada but I've seen many ppl giving their friend's address. Once PR is recieved, friend can forward the mail to US address. But as I said this is not legitimate.
