    Urgently need help

Where are you currently based? If you are an Indian in the US, then you can get a birth certificate from the Indian consulate (they will take the info directly from your passport for both you and your wife), so that should be straightforward. Not sure how it works for Indians in countries...

2 questions after receiving the AINP nomination approval

Hi Rabbit, Congrats on receiving the AINP approval letter. 1. In my case, I faxed the letter and then sent it by snail mail. 2. The PN status update form should be used to communicate various steps of your CIC process to AINP (when you sent your application to CIC, when you sent your medicals...

    Any landings?

Seinfeld, I took a cashiers check as proof of funds (< 10K). They wrote it down in my COPR and everything went smoothly with my landing. The way I read the proof of funds link is that you need to show more then 16850 CAD for your family when you are applying for AINP, not when you are actually...

    Any landings?

Thanks RV and Manian. I'm just trying to find out if I need to take 10,000 or more to show as proof of funds. If not necessary to carry that much, then I don't plan on doing so (it is a huge sum!). Anyone else who can share their pointers/experience on this subject? Thanks.

    Any landings?

To RV or anyone who has completed landing, Per the CIC website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp), proof of funds for single person is 10,833 CAD. CIC website also says that if we are carrying an amount over 10,000 CAD, we have to disclose it to the official at the port...

Hi Poppy, I am hoping to land sometime before year end. Another piece of info: I spoke with an AINP representative a few days ago and they said that we should land in Ab only as they have heard of immigration officers giving people a hard time if they land in another province. The rep also...

To all who sent your passport to NYC: did it take more than 2 weeks to get it back? I also found out they have not cashed my check yet. Their letter says we should wait 90 days before requesting them for updates. What should I do? They don't respond via phone. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks dna! Will have some on your behalf too!! I think I will mail it in. Another question- The letter does not make any mention of 'landing fees'. I may be traveling to Canada in the next 2 months, can I just complete the 'landing formality' at the airport?
