Decision made before medicals applying after Feb 28th, any help and reassurance

I can't back my impression with facts but somehow it doesn't sound like bad news to me. I would send an inquiry to Buffalo. They should get back to you in a few days.

Decision made before medicals applying after Feb 28th, any help and reassurance

What's the actual NOC code you had on your application? Somehow it doesn't sound like a rejection to me, unless they didn't like the result of your background check. Other than that I feel it's good news rather than bad. You can always email them an inquiry.

    Received IA from Buffalo today

I have no Canadian experience but I am on the 38 list. FSW case sent to Buffalo on June 18, 2008, AOR received in Nov. 2008 and I just received IA from Buffalo today with an interview waiver and medical and additional doc request.

ADA, You should show ALL your experiences, even if some are not on the list. Otherwise you'll have gaps in your timeline and that is not good.

Winky, you were rejected because the NOC code you used "1114" is NOT on the 38 list. Immigration does not do applicants the favor of guessing them into one of the 38 if they didn't use the "magic codes". Use 0111, revise your job duties if necessary and refile.

    ADVICE NEEDED!

At the point the best guess is the code you used must be exactly one on the 38 list. If not then you aren't going to be qualified. The immigration officers won't go out of their way and do the guess work for you and try to put you into one of the 38s.

If the NOC code you used on IMM0008 Schedule 3 was indeed 0111, I would send the application back with a letter stating that the reason for rejection set forth on their letter was false. Include a page of the minister's instruction and highlight 0111. Ask them to fix their error and retain...

Can I postpone my application to a later date?

I understand what you are saying. But I think it really all depends on individual experience. If you read news and stories, I believe nothing looks scarier and crappier than the U.S. Well my life evolves around the center of the storm - Wall Street. But so far life is just fine. Same goes...

Can I postpone my application to a later date?

Online stories and such? That constitutes a "good research"? That's biased, one-sided and second-hand information to say the best.

Applications filed between Feb. & Nov. 2008 at Buffalo

It looks to me that they are working on April 08 applications. Movement has been slow. If you aren't on the 38 list expect this: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/rejected-by-new-regulation%01-t15273.0.html

Applications filed between Feb. & Nov. 2008 at Buffalo

Baltimore, First, my original question of this thread does not apply to you. I asked about applications filed between Feb. - Nov. 2008, which fall into the new immigration system. Yours was filed before Feb. and is being processed under the old system. Two different things. Yes, time needed...

Applications filed between Feb. & Nov. 2008 at Buffalo

It seems to me that they are going through the files and picking out the ones with CA experience and then transfer them to local. That is definitely a fast track. For the majority of the files they are not in a hurry to return them together with the fees. People like us who are on the 38 list...

Applications filed between Feb. & Nov. 2008 at Buffalo

Anything? I remember seeing one decision made and a few transfers to local office but other than that there has been no visible movement. I filed in June and I'm in the 38 NOC list with no arranged employment or CA experience. What can people like me expect down the road? Any input appreciated.

    FINAL APPROVAL!

It took them over a year to give me the visa after my medical was done. I think it has to do with the background checks they conduct in all countries you've been a resident of. Maybe it takes longer for people with common names? I'm not sure.

    FINAL APPROVAL!

LOL John and all those numbers...you just gave me the chuckles of the day. No offense to the OP. I'm from NY and I still think twice sometimes when I type Buffalo...did I spell it right?

FSW New Time Limit 6 to 12 months!!!

The statement may be true although I don't see how it fits the current reality. As we all know nothing has really been done to applications filed after Feb.08, at least at Buffalo, other than a simple notice and a file number. Therefore for more than half of the people it's already past the...

How long should we wait for the visa?

I waited for about a year before I finally received my visa. This was in 2006. They conduct their own background investigations in every country you've been a residence of. In some regions they use private agencies for that. I believe it took them a long time to get that back from China in...
