Got COPR! Landing questions and vehicle concerns

Thank you for the advice you all have offered so far. I have done quite a bit of research on this and even on these forums I am getting a great deal of conflicting information and I'm very confused and getting more and more worried by the moment. I have seen people claim that I won't even be...

Got COPR! Landing questions and vehicle concerns

Well first off, YAY! I got my confirmation! I plan on Landing next Monday and have a few questions for people who have experienced this before. 1) When landing I give Immigration my Canadian address for them to mail my PR card to. At what point in this process can I start applying for work...

CIC Website application for checking status broken?

I've tried every way I can to try to get into my application on line because my wife/sponsor needs her email address changed because she changed ISPs. I was able to get into it just fine a month ago with no trouble. It appears the CIC is going through a website overhaul and maybe the...

Sponsor changing email, will cause delays?

Just tried calling CIC, and they said the volume of calls was too high and didnt even put me in a queue, just dropped the call. How on earth do I change this information?

Sponsor changing email, will cause delays?

Also, it seems CIC has completely re-done their website, and now I cannot figure out how to check my application or get in to change any info. On the Check Application page it no longer allows me to pick Family sponsored from the list of Permanent residence from outside Canada applications...

Sponsor changing email, will cause delays?

My wife/sponsor recently changed ISPs and she needs to change her email on record. She is concerned that this could cause delays in my application. Any advice on the best way to make the change and if it has the potential to screw anything up? I dont think it would be a big deal but she is...

Initial assessment complete: details/information/proof/plans as to your intent

Well then... that's bizarre. Not an hour after posting here, I actually got a response. A really brief and brusque one, but it's something: "The request was intentionally vague, and was meant to know more information as to your plans to permanently reside in Canada . Thank you and regards...

Initial assessment complete: details/information/proof/plans as to your intent

Emailed them almost a week ago now and still no response. I guess I'll just send in the best I can... useless office. I hope nobody else got sent to this phone-less no response office... Reading the instant-auto reply carefully, it seems that they refuse to respond to emails abut...

Initial assessment complete: details/information/proof/plans as to your intent

As an aside, I am also confused as to why they are requesting an additional copy of my passport. Is that unusual as well? I am entirely sure that I sent a copy of it along with the application since it was on the list. Why would they need another one? Is it possible that some of my paperwork...

Initial assessment complete: details/information/proof/plans as to your intent

"Admittedly, if we don't concentrate, the application forms can feel like they are traps.....when you finalised them, did you check to make sure that the fields were filled out correctly? It's possible that when it asks for the sponsor's name, you might've accidentally typed your name instead of...

Initial assessment complete: details/information/proof/plans as to your intent

Ok, the email finally came and directed me to the Case Processing Pilot-Ottawa (CPP-O) website. Among the FAQ is some information I was not aware of stating that the Visa office in Buffalo New York (USA) was closed last year and that all of their applications have been sent to be processed in...

Initial assessment complete: details/information/proof/plans as to your intent

Update: Well the CIC call center was utterly useless. I spent 20 minutes on hold just to be told by an incredibly bored sounding guy that they can't give me any information because my case is being handled in Ottawa and evidently Ottawa has no phones so the ONLY way I can make an inquiry for...

I'll check it out then since a few people are asking for me to call. I'll come back when I've found something out.

Initial assessment complete: details/information/proof/plans as to your intent

Hmmm... well now I'm concerned. Thank you everyone for your replies. I can't think of a single piece of info I gave that would lead anyone to believe I wanted to stay in the US... I don't own a house, my wife's never even considered moving there. I mentioned my job where I was required to...

Initial assessment complete: details/information/proof/plans as to your intent

So nobody has any info on this? Nobody has ever experienced this? Any information at all so I know what to write?

Initial assessment complete: details/information/proof/plans as to your intent

No, My wife is canadian and lives full-time in Canada and I was pretty specific on the application that I am a US citizen that spends a good portion of my time in Canada but not all of it. I applied outland at Buffalo because people here told me that was the best way to go. So this is not typical?

Initial assessment complete: details/information/proof/plans as to your intent

I received this email today (copied in part below) and while it looks great I'm not entirely sure what to send regarding "provide details/information/proof/plans as to your intent to permanently reside in Canada" Is there a standard type of proof that they require or something more along the...

    JULY 2012 Applicants join here

Just checked my status online and it STILL says application received as my status. Though I also have my address in there now so I assume that means they've actually opened my package at this point... this waiting game is killing me when people that sent after me are already approved.

    JULY 2012 Applicants join here

Got acknowledgement of receipt on Sept 18th and approval of sponsorship on the 19th! They really approve those things fast once they actually get around to looking at them, heh.
