I applied in Sept 2012, got an RQ almost right away (we travelled quite a bit) - wrote the test almost two months ago, got my citizenship last week :)

Do Test and oath invitations appear in ECAS? HELP !!!

Mine showed the test date but doesn't show the oath yet, even though I've got an invitation 2 weeks ago. I would definitely get someone to check your mailbox while you're away.

Taking a vacation outside Canada after applying

I went on numerous vacations after applying for citizenship and everything was fine. You're not doing anything wrong as long as you're maintaining residency requirements, so don't worry and enjoy your holidays.

    Oath ceremony-Ottawa

Luckily I have already got an invitation, the oath is next week so it won't overlap with my trip. Only 5 weeks between the test and the actual oath, I am impressed!

PR Card - how long does it take for the application status to appear online?

I applied for a PR Card renewal - I mailed it via registered mail so I know they got it 2 weeks ago and it still doesn't show anything when I try to check my application's status online. Is this normal or should I start calling them? Thanks!

PR Card is about to expire...

Yes, of course - I only went on a few short trips in the last 5 years so I've got more than enough.

PR Card is about to expire...

Thank you! I think I am going to apply for an urgent renewal tomorrow, if it's ready on time - great, if not - I'll just travel with my current PR card, which is still going to be valid for the duration of my trip. Do you think that would be ok?

PR Card is about to expire...

Hi, I am travelling to Carribean on May, 12-19. I just noticed that my PR card expires on May 26th. Am I still ok to travel? Also if I apply to renew my PR card now will my old one still be valid until I receive a new one?

    Language Test for Truck Drivers

Hi, if someone could please answer my question, that would be fantastic. On CIC's website it states that "Starting July 1, 2012 - most Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applicants to semi- or low-skilled professions will need language testing. This test will show whether your skills meet a...

    Temporary Job in Canada

If a person from visa exempt country wants to get a summer job in Canada what does he/she need to do? I realize they need a work permit or work visa but do they have to go back to their home country to obtain one or is there a way to get one without leaving Canada?

    SOME ANSWERS WOULD BE GREAT

You Australians don't need a visa to travel to Canada as a tourist, right? So you could probably go to Canada and then just drive to the nearest border crossing to "open" your working holiday visa once it's ready....The only thing is didn't they take your passport when you applied for the visa...

Need help on Canadian Visitor Visa

I am sorry but I don't think it will make any difference to them....It's just too suspicious - why would you fly to Canada to attend photo-taking classes? I am sure there are lots of classes like this available in Australia or the US. Besides now that you've been denied twice and you are still...

Mother in law denied 2 times already

MP's are not allowed to intervene/speed up anything because it would be unfair to other applicants. Nor can they vouch for you because they simply don't know you. They can only enquire on the status of your case, and it's helpful if you want to get more detailed report that you would get yourself.

Want to visit girlfriend from the United States - problem with past Visa

+1 I chuckled at that phrase too, I remember I was sent over to that "place for lawbreakers" upon my first trip to Canada years ago and I am a very responsible law-abiding citizen :) Sometimes they are just being too careful and if anything seems out of the ordinary they prefer to send you...

    Filipina visiting Canada then marriage

Once you get married - chances of you getting a TRV are pretty much non-existent BUT you can apply for Permanent Residence in your home country (it takes on average 9 months in the Philippines), once you receive it - you can come to Canada as a legitimate Permanent Resident. If you want to live...

    Landing in Halifax

As I have already mentioned they are going to Atlantic Canada so obviously Vancouver is not going to work. They are coming from London and there is a direct flight London Heathrow - Halifax so it would actually be very convenient for them! I just want to know whether it's possible to go through...
