Including a job offer in the application package

Thank you us2yow and sept15 for your replies. I also got a letter of employment from the company, but would like to include my offer letter as well. I think I am just confused why they put "confidential" on the offer letter and not on the "letter of employment" and whether this makes any...

Including a job offer in the application package

Thank you for your answer. You are right about tax returns. Regarding the job offer, I thought it is confidential to me and my company and there might be rules or situations in which I am not allowed to disclose the offer letter. CIC is a governmental agency and might be able to look at all...

Including a job offer in the application package

Hi All, I am going to apply for my citizenship soon and recently got a job offer. At the top of the offer letter, it is written "confidential". Can I include the job offer in my application package? I already called CIC and the agent said that it is OK, but she seemed to be not sure. I think I...

    2 Pieces of Identification !!

for ID, 3 examples are given on CIC website and I personally think you can use any two: 1- a Canadian driver’s licence 2- a Canadian health insurance card 3- a copy of the biographical page of your passport/travel document, etc. That is what I am going to do. Regarding C1 triger, this is from...

    Home address VS mailing address

Thank you for your reply. As you mentioned, I think the best is to use my home address as mailing address. It is interesting that you mentioned cases reported of CIC sending mail to the home address and ignoring the mailing address.

    Home address VS mailing address

Thank you for your response. Have you heard yourself of any cases which changing address online/calling did not work for them (CIC delivered to the previous address)

    Home address VS mailing address

Thanks for your reply. I do not want to give them any chances. As I mentioned above, the one problem is that I read on the forum that changing address online sometimes does not work. CIC still sends notices to the previous address and somebody mentioned that you should always call CIC and...

    Home address VS mailing address

Thanks for your response. Your response makes sense to me. The one problem is that I read on the forum that changing address online sometimes does not work. CIC still sends notices to the previous address and somebody mentioned that you should always call CIC and change your address. Again the...

    Home address VS mailing address

Hi All, I will be eligible to apply for my citizenship next month. I am still a student and do not have a permanent job. So, I am certain that I am going to move from my place during the process of my application (currently 24 months processing time). I have a friend who has a permanent job and...

New Citizenship Bill Thursday Feb 6th

I know that lots of people asked when the bill will pass. It all depends on the government. They have the majority and they can decide. So, for some, the good news seems to be that "the government expects the bill to pass by the end of the year" Apparently, this was mentioned in the "Media...

    New Rules for Citizenship

By the current law, the time spent in Canada before PR counts towards citizenship requirement up to 1 year(each day before PR as half a day). In the proposed bill, the time spent before PR is not counted. So, for some people if the new bill passes, they will be delayed by two years.

New Citizenship Bill Thursday Feb 6th

You forgot the important fact that back in 2008-2009 we had a minority government. That was why it took so long. Now, with a majority government, it just depends on them and how much they are rushed to pass this bill

    New Rules for Citizenship

Please let me know if you find a link to the "Media briefing" If the government target is the end of 2014 to apply this, some people like me will be happy.

    Spousal sponsorship

Thanks a lot computergeek. I was very confused. So, we will use the second package. Since my wife lives in Canada as a student, if we apply for PR, will she be able to travel outside Canada and return before the application for PR is finalized? I read on CIC website that if someone applies...

    Spousal sponsorship

Thank you computergeek for your complete answer. From your answer I understand that 1- We should apply "outland" and then it might be better to select her home office for processing. Which form should we use for our application? (please see below explanation from CIC) "The application for...

    Spousal sponsorship

Hi All, I went through the CIC website, but I could not find an answer to my question. Here is my situation. I have been a PR since Nov. 2011. My girlfriend came to Canada on Sept. 2011 on a student Visa. She still have 1.5 year to go (she will graduate in Dec. 2014). We are going to get...

What are the possible effects of getting married while a PR?

Thank you again Aamir for your answer. I hope everything goes well with you in future as well. I completely understood that being married does not affect my file. My only worry was that I am going to submit my application and put "sinlge" in the sttus. If I get married after mailing my...

What are the possible effects of getting married while a PR?

Thank you Aamir 89 for your answer. I have another question. You sent your application on April 03, 2013 and you have an oath ceremony on Nov. 25, 2013? So, around 8 months? It is quite fast considering the timeline (25 months for regular applications)
