    As far as I know they cancel your current visa ( mine is valid till Dec 2014) and issue a new short term one so you can enter as a permanent resident.

    Hang in there bro. I know it is very disheartening when you hit that track button and its not activated yet. I am in the same boat. It is day 25 for me with nothing yet. Lets hope this afternoon brings more good news for some of us. ;)

    I sent the email to ottpilot-immigration @ cic.gc.ca at about 4:30pm mountain time and got a response at 8:42pm mountain time, same day. I may have been lucky in the timing of it.

    Day 16 and no activation yet. Isn't it an awful thing when you click the Canada post "Track" button and it says " We could not find this Tracking Number in our system." :D

    In regards to your second question there, that is what we are all trying to figure out ;) Day 15 for me with no tracker activated yet.
