For writing specifically, re-evaluation is actually one of the better-value moves, and I'd gently push back on the "it's a gamble" take.
Writing is human (and I guess now partially AI-rated), and an 8 sits right on the CLB boundary, so it's exactly the kind of score a second rater may move...
