CANADIAN CITIZEN MARRIED TO A NIGERIAN LIVING IN SPAIN

Interview is mandatory at Accra. It's an unwritten rule there. Every one is seen as a fraud artist until you prove you're not during the interview. Unfortunately, genuine marriages gets denied and crushed in the carnage. Avoid Accra as much as possible if you can.

    Refusal Rates?

Wow! Accra always the perennial rejection leader. In my estimation the most difficult embassy to deal with.

    Sponsoring husband from Morocco

Seems like months ago you asked these questions. She was denied the visa on April 29 2010. The appeal hearing took place on March 15 2011. I also found out the same day that I won. She got her visa on October 11 2011.

    Sponsoring husband from Morocco

I lurk around here once in a while but never posted before. Habibti, sorry to hear about your predicament. I’ve been in your shoes. My wife was a victim of visa denial. I felt the same way you’re feeling; Sleepless nights, restlessness, depression, regrets, sick days from work etc. My wife...

Which provinces require a 3-month wait before coverage?

CIC accuses us of Business marriage.

Like most of you have mentioned, appeal is the way to go. If you reapply they will question why you didn't appeal since you claim your marriage is genuine. With an appeal a fresh set of unbiased eyes will look at your application and make a determination. Just be sure to cover all the grounds...

    Victim of Marriage Scam

I think many are judging the OP from a Canadian standpoint. In many cultures love comes second when it comes to marriage. Men marry in some cultures because they want to start having children. Love is irrelevant.

THE INTERVIEW IS NECESSARY ALWAYS TO DO? OR NO? HELP

Those are weak evidence not just by your estimation. That must be an aberration or the officer that processed her file must be in a very good mood. In my own case, I submitted 18 pictures and many supporting documents. They were not satisfied and demanded for more. I had to send additional 15...

    PR VISA REFUSED

Accra is a prime example of this. I've never heard of anyone going through that embassy without an interview and that include the applicants with short timelines. Many Accra applicants are in this forum.

    PR VISA REFUSED

Quite a bold statement you made there. I don't know the embassy you dealt with but the ones located in some developing countries will still invite you for an interview no matter how convincing your documents and pictures are resulting in unnecessary delay.

Finally visa in hand after 3 years of waiting.

My wife's experience contradicts your statement. After winning the appeal she had to wait another 7 months before the visa was issued. That's even longer than your husband had to wait. Common sense will dictate that a successfully appealed application will be processed much faster. Other than...

CIC accuses us of Business marriage.

What the officer said to your wife is an indication of bad news in my view. The message: "The office will contact xxx concerning this decision" probably means that the visa will be denied. My wife's visa was denied and that's exactly what the status report indicated at the time. You have strong...

Kedeisha, dakonej, theachrissy thank you for your comments. Dogged determination has been part of my makeup. It has served me well in other aspects of my life. It came in handy in this situation.

Finally visa in hand after 3 years of waiting.

I probably set a record in this forum for the longest timeline or at least close to it. Here is the breakdown. The application was filed on October 27 2008. Apparently, the following month the Accra embassy had contacted my wife without any of us knowing that. This was on November 28 2008 .They...

They used a lawyer. He or she should have picked up on all the inconsistencies during consultations and push them hard to be in sync in terms of their knowledge of each other. On the other hand, may be he or she did. I wasn't there. It is the responsibility of the couple to educate each other...

It's absurd because pictures does not entirely capture the true emotions expressed at a wedding however, that does not stop visa officers from judging relationship based on what they see in the pictures. In my case the visa officer stated that no true emotions was expressed in our wedding...

    Interview Failed..

Oceans_end Very unnecessary. It seems you intentionally made an outlandish statement to ellicit some reactions from posters for your own amusement. Unfortunately, You succeeded. If you don't know, using a lawyer for the whole immigration process is entirely OPTIONAL and that includes appeal cases.
