Immigrating as Self-Employed, is there a specification on supporting documents?

Thank you! Figured there must be room for some sort of cross over in relevant skills. How long did/has your application taken thus far?

retaining residence with less than 730 days

I know this is questionable but *could* you enter on a tourist visa and stay, then show the stamp as proof 2 years later and renew the PR card?

Immigrating as Self-Employed, is there a specification on supporting documents?

Hi Guys - I have a question - as a producer in film did you show any sort of cross over in experience? For example as a photographer - I'm required to show I also worked for another photographer to gain my skills. Therefore before showing all of my own commerical work, I'm wondering if I can...

    Self Employed Photographer

Thank you so much Scylla. It is my only income source here, and was for 2 years in Canada before I left to the US. (Regret leaving already!) I'm hoping to include that into the application. As for cultural... I'm a commerical photographer. I will have to look into this. I'm guessing plans to...

    Self Employed Photographer

Thank you - very helpful. I'm a sole proprietor in the US. Is there a level of income they consider good/bad? Would it be beneficial to me to incorporate to appear more "legitimate"? I can prove I employed people - however as many self employed do - we write off a lot - therefore the final...

    Self Employed Photographer

Hey All I did a very silly thing and let my PR go - previously had PNP for high skilled IT and never met my RO. Very sad day.. however I am now self employed and have been for years, and would eventually like to return to Canada. I'm from New Zealand; does this affect processing time? Having...

Retroactive Cancellation of MSP and Expired PR Card

Dear Leon, I have quite a problem for myself and wondered if you may shed some light. I have less than a month left on my PR but am in Canada. No problems coming in, but I am under 730 by about 100 days. Really silly of me - because now I may have to stay 2 years just for those lost days. I am...

Hours/months needed to apply for CEC- ROE as proof?

I'm hoping to apply for CEC when I have reached 24 months of full-time employment. In this time I have taken 3 weeks unpaid leave, does this mean I fall short of the 24 months needed? I have yet to take this year's paid leave but am reluctant to do so if this means I'll fall short even more...

CEC for girlfriend. Will 2 weeks shy of experience still be accepted?

Oh I see. Sorry; she is on a WHP, not a WP. By buy time, I mean apply for an extension which costs 150, and takes ~4 weeks to process. Normally they decline these. What I did when I applied for PR so I could keep working.

CEC for girlfriend. Will 2 weeks shy of experience still be accepted?

Hi there. So my girlfriend qualifies for PNP, so easily it's not even funny. Unfortunately her company will not fill out the forms due to "legal reasons". A real shame. Think it's to do with the advertising of the position. So, now she is left to apply for CEC. She has nearly 2 years...

"Medical Results have been recived" and after how many days you got ppr guys??

Hey everyone- I highly suggest using a signature required package, and someone other than Canada Post for the passport. I had PPR, and apparently my passport was delivered yesterday - however I am yet to see it. Seems to be lost. Canada Post wont tell me where it was delivered (to what...

"Medical Results have been recived" and after how many days you got ppr guys??

Got it. FYI, my rep emailed Buffalo as an enquiry and that's when something happened. It was over 6 months post-medical. E-CAS now says: We received your application for permanent residence on April 25, 2011. We started processing your application on April 13, 2012. Medical results have...

Application Received March/April/May 2011 Waiting For PPR

New Zealand. Done the medical's so I am guessing all criminal checks have cleared and I'm just waiting. Nothing should be stopping it, it's so slow! I suppose, I am still under 15 months processing on the federal side?

Work Permit expires is application for PR still valid?

I think this is what happened to me. I had a VISA that had 3 months left on it. Took a perm job, applied for PNP, and was nominated. Once nominated, you will be given a work permit supporting letter, which you take to the border, and they will give you a new permit. If your work permit expires...
