So my wife finally got her work permit. Apperently they lost the original application we sent. After numerous phone calls to the CIC we were finally told to send everything again with all the tracking info, but address it to Group Leader. Once he received it, it was processed the same day.

CIC received my wife's OWP (per fedex tracking) April 27th and it's still not in their system....wtf? Sounds like they lost it considering they are processing May 7th, is that possible?

I think the best proof is a return ticket. Other than that I would think it's hard to prove that you will return. It will all depend on the customs official and what mood they are in.

So still haven't received the work permit. I called the CIC and they said that they are still opening the stuff received from the week of April 29th so that's why it's still not be in the system. Total B.S.......

good news...they finally started processing paper applications...they are now at April 22nd...:) keeping my fingers cross that they will not stop again....:)

They asked us for additional address info during the 6 month that they were processing the application and a UK police certificate.

When I call the CIC the automated status message says that there might be a decision made on June 13th. Does that mean anything or that just coincides with the date they received all the additional info?

So how long does it take for 2nd stage approval? We received AIP in mid april and they asked for a few more details, which we sent off the following day. The CIC website said they received the requested documents June 13, 2011.

i tried calling the CIC and the only thing they can tell me is that they are backed up.....although that kind of doesn't make much sense. You'd think they would get through some of these in a week....
