c chances of approval might be low unfortunately since the visitor visa purpose to visit and leave. If you have family here, they might not approve. You can try and see. Good luck!

I think the exemption was always there, but it was confusing because of the approved application on or before March 18, 2020 and this was causing confusion for those who were approved after and the CBSA officers. What about those who applied through family class sponsorship, and were approved with a valid travel document after March 18? They are spouse of Canadian Citizen and would be travelling for non-essential travel (reuniting with family)? would they fall under travel exemption?
