    Based on what I am observing for Sep/Aug 2024 inland applications, we will wait around 6-7 weeks after completing medical until we receive P1, then a few days to P2, and a month or two for the actual PR card. That's around 3 months after medical until you get the card in your hand.

    I would say, renew it as soon as you can to be on the safe side. It's not guaranteed that your spouse will get their PR before December 2025. The processing time now is 36 months. Although I am hopeful that you will get your PR before December 2025, I would recommend you to be on the safe side...

    P1 is an email from the IRCC ask your information for confirmation your PR. P2 is another email you receive after P1 to finalize your status as a permanent resident. Then you receive your card and be happy :)
