    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

For in-person oath, they ask you to wait 2 business days before applying. After that, if you have an urgent travel reason you can get it as fast as same day (you pay a additional $$)

    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Finally became a Canadian citizen today Those still waiting — hang in there. I know how frustrating it is. If you get the option to do in-person ceremony, def pick in-person. It’s a much more memorable experience than zoom. We had people from 40+ countries — it was a wonderful ceremony. I’ll...

    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

I think it’s quite evident the system is collapsing under the immigration load. The issue I have with standard processing time is that it is a moving target. As per my last conversation with IRCC if the application is processed within 10months it is considered within official processing time...

Im sorry to hear that. Hang in there it’ll come through. Make sure to renew your PR if your expiration is within the next 6-9months.

If you call IRCC you can just ask them what your primary office is. In my case, Webforms always get same generic reply.

    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

You sure your office is Scarborough? (Confirmed my IRCC or GCMS notes). I thought my office was Scarborough as well (based on test invite) but when I got my GCMS notes my primary office was Vancouver.

    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

That’s helpful to know. My test was marked complete March 8th. I would be less concerned if I had received a single response from IRCC that was not autogenerated text. The GCMS notes show that no human has looked at the file since AOR. No officer is assigned to the application. Im moving back...

Yes Vancouver. I was told all inquiries are routed to the office. My MP’s office informed me that my request was received by the office May 6th. It randomly resulted in a ghost update.

    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

For those of us still waiting on LPP — has anyone tried calling IRCC or submitting a web form? Just wondering if anyone has received any updates. I’m starting to see people from February getting their LPP done, so it’s a bit discouraging.

    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

According to IRCC the current processing time (10months) applies to us. It does not make sense but it is what it is. I believe the processing time will further increase in the coming months. Is your application in Vancouver? That seems to be the major bottle neck.

    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

I feel you. I just want to be done. I think this process is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. We might be the “lucky ones” If we look at number of new PRs. 2017: ~290,000 2018: ~320,000 2019: ~340,000 2020: ~180,000 2021: ~410,000 2022: ~440,000 2023: ~470,000 2024: ~480,000...

    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

Thank you! I just put in my PR renewal application in today -- $50 is a small price for piece of mind. My trust in IRCC is an all time low. If I get my PR card in the next two months I will be happy.

    January 2025 - Citizenship Applications

My background was complete Feb 20th, test completed March 7th. No FP requested. Odd that those with FP are getting LPP and oath already. Those without are still waiting. I am seeing a pattern I think it’s just Vancouver office.

Anyone here still waiting for their LPP? I ask as my PR card expires this year and wondering if I should put in my PR card renewal application in parallel.
