2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

Similar timeline for me ... April 2023, and 25 months left ... only the one-time initiative could help us out IF QC joins the initiative (a BIG IF).

The one-time 2-year initiative regarding 115,000 protected persons

In my case, people ahead last month was 8,700 and now it is 8,400, so only 300 processed PR in the month (Quebec). If that rate is to stay, I'd get PR around July 2028. However, everything could change in the upcoming months with the one-time initiative, well, at least for people outside Quebec...

The one-time 2-year initiative regarding 115,000 protected persons

I have to admit that it looks like kind of difficult the 7 month remaining period. But not all is bad as your eligibility is passed, and we actually don't know how much criminality and info sharing has moved recently (we only see the the dichotomy yes or not, but maybe it is closer to the...

The one-time 2-year initiative regarding 115,000 protected persons

You're closer! If that happens to be, it would've been 52 months in total for you. I recall that back in Nov, when they were reporting the waiting time on a weekly fashion, the average was 46 months in total. I applied in QC in April 2023 and it shows 27 months left, so for me in total if would...

The one-time 2-year initiative regarding 115,000 protected persons

No idea. I think I have read (not sure though) in the forum that once outside QC, your times are effectively those of the rest of Canada, but I have no first-hand evidence of that, so take that with a HUGE grain of salt and maybe ask around in other threads. The second part of your question is...

2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

Exactly! For you guys/gals out of QC a few months ago average time was around 24 months, and now I think they say is around 34? For us in QC it was 46 months back in Sep/Oct 2025 and now it is 61 months. They keep moving the post, so, it is harder to qualify for Mandamus.

Beautiful words, you are absolutely right. Thanks for recharging my batteries, well needed. Have you all a fantastic weekend!

The one-time 2-year initiative regarding 115,000 protected persons

For QC there were 400 processed applications last month (updated February 12), and they say in the update that it remains 27 more months (I applied April 2023, so so far 34 months in the waiting), so around 320 applications processed per month approximately. If QC doesn't join the one-time...

The one-time 2-year initiative regarding 115,000 protected persons

Thank you for your well-explained reply. I want to stay positive, definitively, but QC doesn't make it any easy. Hopefully, it is as you hypothesized, a potential tug of war for securing more funding. If so, we still have some hope. I agree with you that the arguments for speeding up the...

The one-time 2-year initiative regarding 115,000 protected persons

Thanks for the update! It is great news, for all of you outside QC. You will get PR soon! As for us in Quebec, it seems the wait time is going to be 2+ more years (already 34 months down, but who is counting hehe), so sad. I had my doubts that QC was going to easily be part of the one-time...

2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

I don't think they have started unfolding it yet, maybe (hopefully) they are still planning how to proceed (soon?)... and there is no way to know nothing that I know of...I so much wish to know for example if it is going to cover applicants based in QC (my case).

2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

Same here, Quebec too. I was at 15,500 in Dec. and now at 9,100 and 28 months (was 32 in Dec)...I still don't know if QC applicants are gonna be included in the one-time initiative...mum's the word from IRCC/Gov so far.

2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

Hi, I applied on April 2023, from QC. The wait time for PR is 45 months currently, so I am, in theory, 1 and half years away from getting the PR (so sad). Does anyone know when it is usually the time to start seeing updates on the application? so far my application has been dead for months...

2023 PR Applications Timeline (Protected Persons & Refugees)

Congratulations! Did you apply in which province? Right now wait time for applicants from QC is 45 months whereas the rest of Canada is 30 months I applied in QC and so far it has been almost 25 months (applied April 2023).
