    Simple question

The main issue is we did have some day trips to the US. Any trip longer than 1 day I remember and have listed. A few times, we went down to Point Roberts for like 2 hours, to Bellingham for like 6-8 hours. How accurate do they want this?

    Simple question

I tried the link in red, that does not work for her. So can we request it from CBSA? I did already. We reconstructed all of our major trips, but for day trips, it's really hard.

    Simple question

Thanks. My wife is a US citizen. Not sure if this makes a difference.

    Simple question

So my wife is a PR. We've only taken short trips the last 4.5 years to the US, less than two months total. Rest of the time she's been in Canada. Now, for the trips outside Canada section, what if we don't remember the date of every single trip? Would it be ok to just have them request the info...

    PR card

THanks all, we received the card today. Now we can go ahead with the Nexus pass application.

    PR card

My wife landed march 8. We still haven't received her PR card. Do we need to apply for this or send in an address or something? They took down all of our info when she landed.

    Savings in the Bank

Like you I was obsessed with finding out as much info as I could about the process. My wife and I make 7 figures combined at age 30, and 27 and I still worried and stressed like you are now so I can certainly understand. However, intheend, as others have said, money really does not make or break...

    IMM5540 Q8

The number 1 rule I used to fill out these applications is to never lie and to never knowingly omit something because it can come back to bite you. So if they ask for information, fill it in, and if you don't remember the exact details, say so. What they do with the application is their...

    Lawyer? nescessary? avg prices?

Unless you have a complicated case, or can't read English I would not hire a lawyer or consultant.

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Dunno. I would imagine so. They gave us that option in the PPR email.

    Depressed

Didn't ask details but I just know he told me that they didn't think they were a real couple as apparently there are a lot of cases of older white men marrying younger girls, and then when they get here the girls ditch the men.

    Depressed

Doubt race has anything to do with it. My old neighbor in his 50s married a 40 year old Filipino from Hong Kong. He was white. Was denied on the grounds that his relationship was not genuine. They thought she was just using him to get to Canada. She waspregnant too. If anything they scrutinize...

    Dual intent - bringing goods?

Depending on the border officer, they have the right to refuse you entry if you haven't been granted PR yet, even though your app is in process. Thus if they think you're moving your kitchenware and such into the country and they think you're already moving to set up shop here there is a chance...

    Depressed

62% for HK, spouses and partners category (excluding skilled workers, etc.) This is in line with what one of the immigration consultants told me. He said about 50% of his cases get refused (he is Chinese and only does Chinese cases more or less), then they appeal and win 90% of the time...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

    Landing

Not so much of an interview as a welcome to Canada thing. They ask about what you're bringing in, ask if you're a criminal, ask if you're bringing in any guns, etc. In the end they explain how to get health insurance, how to apply for a SIN card, etc. Very easy process.

Question about traveling to the US

I concur. Your wife, if not from a visa exempt country, would need a visa to enter the US. The border guard that processed our landing papers explicitly told us that if you were to travel to the US, you normally would need a visa if not from a visa-exempt country, but my wife being American...

    RPRF Paid 3 months ago...

We paid at end of January and got PPR from LA abou 3-4 weeks later. I would call CIC first to ask them if they have gotten it.

Did they lose your police check? You may need to call or email Detroit to ask. Did you send it in at the same time as your app?

Passport stamped but no idea where it is

LA never stamped my wife's passport, we only got COPR. Did you get a tracking number?
