    Your PR card application number is not the same as your PR application number. You probably won't know your PR card number unless you call IRCC. Also, I have tried to link mine but it doesn't work, I called IRCC and they don't know why it doesn't work so I raised a webform for a technical issue...

    Technically you could enter as a visitor, usually they let you. I heard of a few cases where people were questioned why they wanted to enter as a visitor when they had a permit to activate. BUT, the issue is that you already work for a Canadian employer, which I believe wouldn't be compatible...
