Arriving in Canada before PR, what to tell Immigration?

You won't have any problems, especially if you have return flights. We did the same thing and I was a bit nervous what to tell them, but just answer their questions and you'll be fine. Have all the information at hand. They will know about her PR application because you got already sponsorship...

Berlin, Europe Spouse Sponsorship Timeline 2011

no that has nothing to do with the taxes in Germany, the only thing is that you get a voting card sent to the address your registered at when there is an election. The lady at my 'Meldebehoerde' even advised me to stay registered in Germany, so I can renew my passport easier. If you don't have...

I'm not sure about this waikiki, for immigration Canada I don't think he needs a official german address, but I don't know if he can cancel (abmelden) his german address before he is a PR in Canada. You could just go to the 'Meldebehoerde' and ask how that works. I'm still 'gemeldet' in Germany...

hi waikiki, I did have the COPR sent to my parents address in Germany, while I was in Canada, but mostly because I didn't have a fixed address in Canada. I know you can change your mailing address to a canadian address and have it sent there.( I think Indigo from the forum here did that)...

Health insurance for someone applying outland but staying in Canda?

they sent me the COPR right away, I think for German and Dutch citizens Berlin usually sends COPR, unless your passport expired and you got a new one. But not sure.

Health insurance for someone applying outland but staying in Canda?

hi waikiki I stayed in Canada as a visitor for the last 6 months and I had a longterm travel insurance through the ADAC (if you are from Germany). It's way cheaper than other insurances and easy to get.

Just thought it might be interesting for future applicants. So my application was received on September 15th and we got sponsorship approval on November 28th, I ordered GCMS Notes, just out of curiosity to see what they are doing with my file. I received the notes today per email and they are...

I think he will be fine as long as he lands before his medical expires or his passport expires. Once he has the visa in his passport he has to use that passport to land. he can't renew his passport before he lands, but they wouldn't issue his visa in the old passport if he couldn't travel with it.

Congrats! no, you don't need an appointment to land, you just book your flight and when entering Canada you tell them you want to land.

I'm guessing you are talking about landing when you are already in Canada. You can either call CIC to make an appointment at a local CIC office or you can land at the border. A trip to the States, or flagpoling (drive to the border and tell them you want to land)

    question about COPR

don't think it matters since you obviously are not 179 meters tall, but mine says: 176 cm

OHIP - with COPR as proof of residency - when does it start?

I'm very sure that you can only apply for health care after you have landed. Your COPR is not complete before landing (because you don't sign it before). You can apply with your COPR after landing and don't have to wait for your PR-card though.

since Dec 1st Berlin doesn't request your passport anymore (if you are from a visa-exempt country), they just send you the COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence). It shows all your personal details and has an expiry date (usually 1 year after you had your medicals done). You just need this...
