We just received the passport request letter. Though my wife is a citizen of a visa not required country, all we have to send in is pictures, a scan of her passport and a familial update within 30 days to receive the COPR.

The status tracker just updated with a COPR expiration date and a document number for my wife. How will she receive this document and when? Timeline Applied December 9th 2022, Outland, Quebec Everything completed/approved in 2023. Background completed March 22nd, 2024 COPR update April 2nd, 2024

So all 4 steps on the application status tracker for my wife have been marked as completed including the background as of 3/22. How long until we hear back for the next step?

Here's my theory about this. And its a theory so don't hold me to it. Some of these backgrounds have not been run because of the "caps". And when your case comes closer to a decision date, they'll run them at that time. They don't want to run a background and they be out of date by the time they...

For me it's been 15 months, From what I read, if you already have approval from quebec (CSQ), then you should see a reduced time, though that's not clear what it will be like.

I'm fully aware of the delays for Quebec and how frustrating it is. I actually have a friend who works for one the major news organizations and they have covered the issue and they've told me personally its a complete mess from what they have seen and learned from their connections.

We submitted in Dec 2022 and my wife is American. Currently only the background is left to be completed.

The ghost updates make no sense. For a two week period I had ghost updates every day, then nothing for 2 months, before it went to every second day, to once a week. I haven't had a ghost update since February 2nd this year.
