How could you tell they are working on your security? Really curious to know From what I've heard it's just a request sent out to third parties like RCMP and CBSA , then if no adverse info found , CPO review

I guess it's all luck. Depending on the officer, their workload. From what I've read they are using AI to make eligibility decision so that's why we all seemed to get them at the same time. Still a lot of 2021 people waiting I've seen as well.

hello Any idea how long security takes? What does it entail? When do they begin the security assessment? my file has not been touched since eligibility in October 2023, according to the agent I spoke to today.( He said the last update was eligibility passed and security not started)

From what I am seeing they are still dealing with April 2022 at the moment. Haven't heard of anyone from May who got first portal and final decision yet. It seems they have slowed down again, hopefully by August you will get a response

i'd suggest that you apply, with the new timelines and prioritization of other pr application classes it may take a while to move even a single step.

just checked and processing times for protected persons and convention refugees is now 26 months up from 23 months. The auditor general had shed the spotlight on our plight but instead of improvement on the time frame it got even worse. It now feels like they will never look at our applications
