    Our Landing Experience and Observations

Thank you. The website is confusing and lists many more documents that they "suggest" you bring to the landing. Many of them were submitted with our original application. I will bring all of the documents with me regardless just in case. Thanks again and congratulations on your recent landing.

    Our Landing Experience and Observations

I will try one more time with this question. For some reason you are reticent to answer my legitimate question. I have quoted other posts of yours and you have not answered and I don't understand why. We are planning to land in a month or so from the US. The CIC website shows that there are...

    Our Landing Experience and Observations

We are planning to land in a month or so from the US. The CIC website shows that there are many documents we must have with us when we land. We are FSW1. Many of them are just a duplication of the documents that we submitted when we applied for Permanent Residence. Can you tell me what documents...

Some confusion over latest date to land after COPR received

Thank you for responding. We were concerned that if any problems arose at the border that landing so close to the expiration date could be a problem if we were missing any documents that are needed.

HI - Trying again to get some information on our visa from a previous post from February. We got our Confirmation of Permanent Residence forms in January. They expire in December. Can you please tell me what PPR and ECAS stands for? I am concerned that maybe we do not have all of the required...

Some confusion over latest date to land after COPR received

Hi Folks...we got our IMM 5688 Confirmation of Permanent residence in January. There are two valid dates on the document. One shows, 12/16/2014 and the other is 12/01/2020. Can someone explain when we must "land" in Canada? If it is required to land by 12/16/2014, can we land for example on...

LANDING IN CANADA ??? -All You Need To Know.

Hi Rizmayo- I hope you or someone else can help me with a confusing part of the Ontario Health rules. We plan to land around June 1, 1014 with our COPR. Do we first have to establish permanent residency by staying for 153 days and then wait three more month for health coverage in Ontario? It...

LANDING IN CANADA ??? -All You Need To Know.

We are immigrating for job, family and personal reasons. My wife spent many of her summers in Nova Scotia and we may eventually move there. We both will hopefully have jobs lined up in Canada shortly. We filed for application under Federal Skilled Worker back in July of 2011. Thanks for your help.

LANDING IN CANADA ??? -All You Need To Know.

Thank you. Also, I reviewed the Documents needed on the first page of this thread. I keep seeing we will need Passport w/ Visa. I have a US passport but I am not sure what I meant by Visa? I have an IMM 5688 form which is the Confirmation of Permanent Residence. Another website I saw said the...

LANDING IN CANADA ??? -All You Need To Know.

Thanks much. We will probably find a place regardless. Just one last question. Our valid date is until 12/4/2014. Is it OK to cut it close and land on say November 30, 2014? If there is a problem, will they give you time to rectify? Or do most folks here suggest to not cut it close to the ending...

LANDING IN CANADA ??? -All You Need To Know.

Hi Rizmayo- This thread has been very helpful. We just received our CPR and it expires on 12/14/2014. I only have one question if you could be so kind. We live in the US and are very close to Brockville where we will land. Is it required that we have a place to live in Canada (permanent address)...

Usa to Canada? 401k Ira, ssn credits?

I assume you are compelled to withdraw the funds and use them? If not, why not leave them in the account you now have? I would believe you could not roll them over tax free (US) to a canadian account but I may be wrong. The penalty in the US is 10% on top of the income tax for early withdrawal.
