I don't think nationalities are favoured over others... I think immigration has an easier task verifying information from certain countries vs others. This is just down to the fact that there is better cooperation between Canada and certain nations, information sharing is better, and so on...

I did a 8 day trip, and it went fine. They just checked my eTA and OWP at the border and I was through in less than two minutes. When they do issue the OWP the latter specificly state that the OWP is not a travel entry document. You should have a valid eTA or TRV to make the entry smooth imo...

Maybe, but to advise that it is only a "suggestion" is not good advice in my opinion. It is clearly written on the back of the visa that it should be submitted at least 30 days before the expiry date of your status. Status being when you landed or when you had your visitor record issued, etc...

Maybe... But you take the risk if application is returned because of missing documents/signatures etc. (ie. before getting AOR). Then you would be in effect out of status... filing a visitor extension would be the safe choice.

We got Eligibility passed on both PA and Sponsor tracker, then ca. week later we received SA and AIP letters via email. SA is sent to sponsor and AIP is sent to PA. I think they start Background check after this step (before DM).
