Actually, you have a very good point. There is no way I can get back the passport once surrendered. So it makes sense to apply for OCI with the proof of SC application.

Also, I noticed that when I the Track Status option from https://portal3.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html and enter the ARN it says "Entered Application reference number can not be tracked." I am able to check the status only using the User Login. Is it the same for you? Or is there any...
