Things have changed a lot since 2016. IRCC is at its worst right now. They don’t have any streamlined process. Biometrics are valid for 10 years so if someone already did biometrics for their older applications, they won’t get another request letter.

A couple of things here. Biometric request is the first step in application process. Average processing time isn’t 60 days( from india, not sure where you applied from though) It’s usually what’s displayed on the CIC website ( around 150 days now). Some applications take less or some take more...

So it took them more than 7 months to give you a rejection? This is frustrating

I see. So generally everyone suggests first submitting spousal sponsorship application and then apply for VV once you’ve received AOR. I’m not sure if you did the same. Also spousal sponsorship is not taking too long these days. It takes between 6 months to 1 year

I know it’s frustrating to wait for this long and then get rejected. Generally when you’ve 2 visitor visa applications in process, one gets withdrawn. But these days it’s hard to predict how IRCC is processing applications but most likely the US application will get withdrawn
