I ended up waiting until my pgwp extension was approved to then apply for a trv. I read as many forum threads as I could and concluded that my trv application would be rejected without a valid work permit because it would have been submitted within Canada.

Jan 25 application, no response yet (I used a representative -lawyer- so I can’t access/it link it online for tracking).
