We applied on Apr 1st, but it got submitted as Apr 2nd, I guess because of Easter holiday.

They took your original passport in? They didn't take mine. They took just the application with all copied documents. I submitted in person.

Why don't you just go in person? I don't understand why people spend money to courier the application. What if there is something wrong with it or something missing? Submitted in person on Sep 22nd Date Of Acknowledgment 27-SEP-2023 Application status currently under-process. Hopefully, it doesn't take more than 2 months.

Go to any notary office and they will type it up for you once you explain. I had to do the same since our names are different on Indian passport.

So my Surrendering Application problem have been taken care of. Once I got a reply from Indian Council, I had to get an affidavit from a notary office attesting my name. Thanks you all for replying.

I went for walk-ins since we don't need an appointment for surrendering application. But I did not include original Canadian Passport, just a copy. They don't ask for it either nor they list in the check-list posted on their site.
