    November 2021 - Citizenship applications

Thank you! It was really quick, considering the holiday break too! But I'll tell you passport times are back to normal now (at least in Toronto), so you'll get your passport quick. I opted in for the $20 option where you pick your passport up in-person, but I feel it would have been mailed to me...

    November 2021 - Citizenship applications

Picked up my passport today. 1 year and 2 months exactly since application. Oddly, my tracker still says "In Progress" and Oath "Not started". I don't think this will change. Might send them a message, but seems like it's not a huge deal. Wonder if it changed for anyone else, to "Completed"...

You'll need to print the form out anyway, so you can fill in some of the areas, like Indian post code etc... manually with a pen. The clerk at the passport office with enter it in their computer. For additional info, in my opinion, you can add an extra piece of paper where you can add the...

    Canadian Passport in person timeline

Like people above said, in person is better. If you made any mistakes on your form, they will tell you there and then, so you can correct them. Also you don't have to send your citizenship certificate via mail. Finally, they will tell you when your passport will be ready and if you pay $20 extra...

    November 2021 - Citizenship applications

I have always submitted multiple ATIP requests, for my PR and Citizenship applications. Typically 3-4 per application, and my processing time was always relatively fast. So no, ATIP requests do not slow down your application. At least in my experience.

In my case the payment was taken immediately and that was also the case for all the people I saw getting their application processed while I was waiting, but I'm sure there is no need to worry, they'll charge your card. Did they give you a date for then your passport with be ready?

Went to the Victoria St, Toronto office today to get my passport. Got there at 9:40am and was out at 11:40am. Exactly 2 hours. Everything was smooth and no issues. I was going to apply for express processing, with proof of travel $50, but the lady told me that for $20 I can have the passport...

Thank you for this information! Looks like everything went smooth for you! I'm going there tomorrow, hoping it'll be the same! I have travel booked, but in 3 weeks, so hopefully they can consider this for an urgent application. Glad it all went well for you! PS. Masks are still required?! What...

    Canadian Passport in person timeline

I'll be going to the Toronto Victoria office tomorrow to get my passport. I have a trip planned on January 14th, so I'll apply for urgent processing, just to make sure I'll get the passport in time. Any advice on what's the best time to go there? Early morning 8:30am or 11am or after 12pm?

    November 2021 - Citizenship applications

No, just regular processing. I believe in the Scarborough office they send the certificate out the day after the ceremony in most cases and then it takes Canada Post about 7 days to deliver, if you're in the same city as the processing office (as I am), probably a bit longer if you're in a...

    November 2021 - Citizenship applications

I received my citizenship certificate, 8 days after the ceremony. I guess this now concludes the citizenship journey, however, my tracker is still showing "In Progress" and "Citizenship Ceremony - Not Started". Has anyone who has completed their process recently have the same issue with their...

You need your mic ON when you're one on one with the official and then when you're reciting the Oath and singing the anthem. Other than that you can be on MUTE.

    November 2021 - Citizenship applications

Same happened to me. I think it's just an IT glitch, it doesn't reflect the actual status of the application. We are already formally citizens, just waiting for the certificate in the post. Hopefully, it'll show as fully completed on the tracker, once they fix the glitch.

Congrats! I believe they mailed the certificate the next day, as I followed up with them and they confirmed that. I anticipate it'll be in the mail either this week or early next week. Canada Post states that regular mail locally takes 2 business days. Not sure why IRCC say 2-4 weeks, maybe it's...

    September 2021 - Citizenship Applications

My ceremony was only 1.30hr long. I believe you can have your toddler with you, however, when everyone is reciting the oath (mics on at that time) there cannot be any noise aside of you repeating the oath, so if your toddler were to cry, that would be an issue, as it would disrupt the ceremony.

Yes! Just wanted to confirm, but It looks like it's a standard issue for many (all?) people who have their Oath within a few weeks. You're right most important we have the email and date! All the best with your wife's ceremony!

I did send it to get my oath scheduled, but I had everything "completed" at that point. Might be worth a shot or maybe calling them or ordering GCMS notes.

Does your wife's online tracker/login work? Mine hasn't been working since I got the Oath invite (similar to a few others). My Oath is next week. Wondering if it's the same case for you or your wife?
