Hello, I have my study permit approved and will be going to Canada in coming August. I intend to apply for my spouse for his open work permit. I’ve heard that I don’t have to wait till I land in Canada to do that. Is this true? If so, I have stated in my family information form that my spouse...

    GCMS notes and reapplying

Defering is fine with me. My 2nd application is submitted on June 6th. It's been a month as of today. 2 more to go as per current processing times. Chances are low that a decision will arrive before my intake.

    GCMS notes and reapplying

I just got my GCMS notes. I had already reapplied without waiting for the notes. In my new SOP I have addressed one of the two refusal reasons given in GCMS notes. Now that I know that's not enough and my second application is in progress, should I withdraw and reapply or submit the explanation...

    Are reapplied cases processed faster?

I have reapplied with SP+SOWP after a rejection. I got my first refusal in 3 months and 1 week. I barely have 3 months before my class starts. I would like to know if reapplications get processed faster. Have you observed that they get processed faster?

Partial deferal of bundled program. Effect on study permit?

Hi all, I have applied for a study permit based on my acceptance letter for a bundled 2 year program, in September intake. This program is a 1+1 program provided as a bundle by college and treated like a single program. Since I think there's a chance my study permit approval won't arrive...

Underlining key parts of study plan.

Yes I explained everything this time. I had other people check it as well. The thing is, I realized I forgot to explain all this the first time, a couple of days after submitting. So I kind of expected the rejection. I got really nervous whether I missed something or did something wrong right...

Underlining key parts of study plan.

I finished bachelor's in computer science and engineering. The program had little to no programming course. The ones it had was very outdated. I worked 4 years as a front end software developer. The program I applied for is Technology management and Software developer 2 year PG diploma at SaskPoly.

Underlining key parts of study plan.

I work as a software developer, and I applied for Technology management and software developer course, to which I gave no explanation. Obviously, the visa officer will think why I am opting a course that adds no value to my career. But the content of the course is different from what I am doing...

Underlining key parts of study plan.

My reason of refusal was "won't leave canada based on purpose of visit". In my last SOP, I didn't explain at all why I chose this particular program. I just said it will add value to my career. I don't know for sure if that's the reason, as I didn't wait for GCMS notes because I'm short on time...

Underlining key parts of study plan.

After my study permit got refused, I applied again last night. I underlined the key areas in my statement of purpose so the visa officer notices it. Later I heard that underlining is a bad practice. Will my study permit get refused because of that?

SP refused. Should I cancel my GIC if I am reapplying?

I got my study permit refusal based on purpose of visit. I am planning to reapply after GCMS notes. At the time of creating GIC account, they asked for Letter of acceptance. Since I am going to reapply, I'll have a new Letter of Acceptance. Do I need to cancel and reapply GIC deposit?

Biometrics information still not updated in GC keybportal

Biometric is still not updated for my spouse's SOWP. In my study permit, it's updated. The status for him shows that "We have not received your biometrics" but biometric number and date are displayed at the bottom. So, I guess we are safe. They probably forgot to update it.

2022 SDS applicants? Please post your timelines here!

Just a small update. I contacted visa processing center because in the SOWP application, medical and biometrics were not updated. They updated medical in the SOWP application today. No changes in SP application.
