    PGWP extension (public policy)

Thank you, I appreciate it :)

    PGWP EXTENSION

They won't.... But go ahead and try. I've said this like three times already, the border has no authority making decisions on behalf of the IRCC. Flag poling works for very specific situations, and even then it's nothing like making a decision for PGWP.

    PGWP EXTENSION

The border will not issue a PGWP upon re-entry if the IRCC has not made a decision yet. They have no authority to do so.

    PGWP EXTENSION

I applied for my extension(due to passport expiry) in late January as well, and the IRCC portal hasn't even started to review my eligibility yet. So I'm in a similar situation. But if you leave, that's it. It's up to you to chose what's more important. The status or the travel.

    PGWP extension (public policy)

Hello, I applied for my PGWP extension in late January due to my passport expiry in March. I'm still waiting for the decision, but when approved, I should receive the remainder of my PGWP going till Nov.23'. It has only been around ~10 days past the expected processing times when I...

    PGWP EXTENSION

Probably not, unless the timing lined up miraculously and the decision was made while you were out of the country. But otherwise, the border has no business handling/taking over IRCC matters. And again, you were supposed to apply on paper... What does your current IRCC status say?

    PGWP EXTENSION

I understand, but you shouldn't give out information that isn't based on the current facts. I'm not trying to undermine your intention, but the net outcome is that it's misleading and unhelpful.

    PGWP EXTENSION

I highly doubt applying for an extension due to passport expiry is something that the IRCC was fine handling over webform due to covid. As far as I've done the research, it's always been this way. If anything, there has been some debate over applying online vs paper, but the official IRCC guides...

    PGWP EXTENSION

I don't think this is a matter of sending a webform to IRCC. You have to apply again like the first time, but with an explanation that your passport had expired and therefore you are requesting for the remaining time left on the PGWP.

Working remotely for a US based company with a PGWP

Hello, I am about to sign a 3 month contract full-time position with an American company and they have sent me the W-8BEN form to sign. From what I could find, it says that if you have a permanent home address in Canada, you can avoid double taxation between the US and Canada. I am currently...

Travelling while waiting for Spousal Open Work Permit decision

Hello, I will be submitting a spousal sponsorship application soon and was wondering if there are factors to consider to maintain implied status. For context, I am currently awaiting for my PGWP extension(due to passport expiry) and expect to receive sometime in July or August. We are...

Inland Common-Law Sponsorship: Sponsor travelling during the one year Common Law period

I am currently on a PGWP, expiring Nov. 2023. (Planning to apply by end of January 2023, with an OWP extension.) "After the one year period of cohabitation has been established, the partners may live apart for periods of time while still maintaining a common-law relationship. For example, a...

Inland Common-Law Sponsorship: Sponsor travelling during the one year Common Law period

In which section will we have to declare this history? Her accommodation will be provided by a family member, so if i do accompany her, it will most likely not have a hard confirmation like with a hotel reservation, but we do plan to travel to other cities with more concrete reservation...

Inland Common-Law Sponsorship: Sponsor travelling during the one year Common Law period

Thanks for the quick reply :) Would there be any work-arounds for this? Such as, returning temporarily and leaving again for another 3-4 week time period. Or myself accompanying her for the last 1-2 weeks/joining in later during her trip, etc. Also how would the IRCC know exactly about these...

Hello, My partner and I have moved in together recently and we are slowly trying to prepare for the sponsorship process.
